2018 TWT PERFORMER AND PARTICIPANT BIOS
Beth Bartley (Moon Lake Gala) — Last seen as Catherine Holly in TWT’s Suddenly Last Summer in 2015, Ms. Bartley brings her considerable expertise and insight to the female repertoire of Tennessee Williams. In 2018, she played Blanche DuBois in a month-long run of Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire at Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre in New Orleans. Other Williams’ plays she has appeared in: Orpheus Descending, The Mutilated, At Liberty, The Lady of Larkspur Lotion, Auto-de-fe, Thank You Kind Spirit, Perfect Analysis Given by a Parrot, and Something Unspoken.
Joel Vig (“Truman Talks Tennessee and Tallulah”) – Featured in the original cast of Broadway’s Hairspray and the Off-Broadway musical Ruthless!, Vig’s colorful career has taken him to theaters around the globe. A regular at Tennessee Williams’ festivals in New Orleans and Clarksdale, he has delighted audiences with his skills as a raconteur and his insight into all of the characters he inhabits.
Stuart Davis Noel, Ph. D. (2018 Tennessee Williams Scholar) – Noel is Associate Dean of English and a professor at Perimeter College at Georgia State University. He has frequently contributed scholarly expertise to Columbus’ Tennessee Williams Tribute and also to the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival. He has studied extensively the life and work of Truman Capote, and is the Chair and Secretary of the Truman Capote Society.
